Trusts
The Trustees are required by law to act with diligence to the best of his ability and skill and with the utmost good faith. They must keep the asset secure, not benefit personally from the Trust, and always act for the benefit of the beneficiaries only.
Key Trust is very experienced in helping clients to establish trust arrangements. We have developed Trust documents that cover a wide range of circumstances and the needs of Settlors from many different jurisdictions. We also offer trust management and administration services – including an investment review that enables trustees to fulfil their obligations under the UK Trustee Act 2000.
Our trust formation and annual fees are always pre-agreed.
Jersey is an ideal location for creating a Discretionary Trust. The Jersey government does not charge Trust fees or taxes. The Island’s well-developed legal system understands and recognises Trusts under the Trusts (Jersey) Law 1984. This provides a modern legal framework for the establishment of trusts, setting out clearly the rights of beneficiaries and the obligations of trustees. The Island is a party to The Hague Convention on the Law Applicable to Trusts and on Their Recognition.
Jersey law does not require Trusts to be registered. Thus the Trust Deed and its arrangements are completely confidential.
